Five Favorite Classic Books -Top Five Tuesday

Happy Top Five Tuesday! The following is a list of five of my favorite classic books.

1) Moby Dick by Herman Melville. It’s chock full of allegory and truth!

2) Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. The ending really got to me when I first read it. So many feels!

3) Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Yes, today it’s considered by some to be overtly racist but that doesn’t mean it’s not good literature. It was written during a very different time.

4) The Time Machine by H.G. Wells. One of my absolute favorite books on the subject of time travel. Wells had his finger on the pulse of the future.

5) Animal Farm by George Orwell. Almost as allegorical as Moby Dick but much more relatable to today’s political climate.

That’ll do it for this week’s Top Five Tuesday! Thanks for visiting my blog! Keep on rockin’! 😎

Five Favorite Bands -Top Five Tuesday

Happy Top Five Tuesday! The following is a list of five of my favorite bands.
1) METALLICA. Their music inspired me to pick up the guitar at age 15 and play my heart out. I’m currently 33 and am proud to say I’m still committed to playing my heart out.

2) Pantera. Dimebag, their late great guitarist, had a profound impact on my strumming technique. Sadly, he was gunned down by a schizophrenic ex-marine at a show back in late 2004. R.I.P Dimebag.

3) Iron Maiden. They’ve been playing their brand of melodic power metal since the early 1970s and show no signs of slowing down.

4) Tool. I’ve learned a lot of interesting chord variations just from listening to Tool’s guitarist Adam Jones. Tool has always been tough to categorize and that’s what I like most about them.

5) Bush. I used to listen to their debut album, Sixteen Stone, 20 times a day during the mid 1990s. Gavin Rossdale’s searing raw vocals combined with overly distorted powerchords were just too powerful to ignore.

That’ll do it for this week’s Top Five Tuesday!

What are some of YOUR favorite bands?

Five Favorite Movies -Top Five Tuesday

Happy Top Five Tuesday! The following is a list of five of my favorite movies!

1) The Back to the Future Trilogy. That’s right, I’m counting the entire trilogy as one movie because it really is just one long epic time traveling movie. If you’re one of the few people who have yet to watch it then I encourage you to go rent it right now and watch it as soon as possible!

2) The Dark Knight. Christian Bale was an excellent Batman/Bruce Wayne. But the real breakout performance came from Heath Ledger as the Joker. He immersed himself so deeply into the role that rumors surfaced after his untimely death suggesting that portraying the Joker truly drove him crazy. (Rest In Peace, Heath Ledger)

3) Sin City. I personally feel this movie is very underrated. Yes, it was adapted from a graphic novel but that doesn’t mean it’s for kids. It’s a very raw and gritty portrayal of the dark side of humanity. One of my favorite scenes is the first scene with Carla Gugino’s character, Lucille. If you’ve seen it you know what I’m talking about.

4) Almost Famous. This movie has everything! It’s got a stellar cast, great story, complex characters, and an awesome 1970s rock soundtrack!

5) Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse. I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this movie before in other posts but I’m gonna mention it again because it is just that awesome! It may seem like your typical zombie apocalypse movie but it has a really well written story and flat out hilarious jokes to boot. Not to mention, one badass performance by the beautiful Sarah Dumont as a shotgun wielding cocktail waitress.

So, that’ll do it for this week’s Top Five Tuesday. Tomorrow is Woman Crush Wednesday!

Until then… keep it real, keep on rockin’, and peace! 😎✌

Five Favorite Actresses -Top Five Tuesday

I’ve decided that every Tuesday will be Top Five Tuesday right here on my blog! That means that every Tuesday I’ll post a list of five of my favorite movies, books, models, actresses, actors, songs, foods, desserts, anecdotes, and whatever else I can think of.

So, for this Tuesday I’ve decided to compile a list of five of my favorite actresses.

1) Jennifer Lawrence. Because… Jennifer Lawrence!

2) Emily Browning. She definitely deserves more recognition than she gets.

3) Sarah Dumont. I’ve only seen her in Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse but she’s so awesomely beautiful and talented that I predict big things for her in the near future.

4) Carla Gugino. I’ve been a fan ever since she started appearing on the tv show Spin City opposite Michael J. Fox.

5) Mena Suvari. After I saw her performance in American Beauty I was immediately hooked and have since seen every movie she’s been in. It’s worth noting that she’s also one of the few actresses who regularly responds to my tweets via Twitter.

So there you have it. That’s my list of five of my favorite actresses. Of course, this list doesn’t include all of my favorites but I wanted to keep it short and concise.

Thanks for visiting and reading my blog! Keep on rockin’!
