The original meaning of the word Utopia is more akin to peaceful coexistence than it is to paradise. This is just one of many important points that Thomas More tried to explain in his short novel Utopia.
This fantastic tale masks what is a serious and subversive analysis of the failings of More’s society. Advocating instead a world in which there is religious tolerance, provision for the aged and state ownership of land, Utopia has been variously claimed as a Catholic tract or an argument for communism, and it still invites each generation to make its own interpretation.
I believe it is more relevant and applicable to today’s modern society than ever before.
I give Utopia by Thomas More 5 out of 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
